August - Last month of winter.

Gardening Update.  Its our passion.
Really looking forward to spring growth for all our planting.

All sorts surviving

Cabbage Flowers - and Frog

Bought more plants.
2 Crimson (seedless) Grapes, 2 Pear trees ( a pair of pear trees?), another Rowan tree,
some climbers for the front of the house and a few odd bits.
Our first Bulb Flowering - first of many hundreds planted

More surprises

Grapes to grow over the Pergola that is yet to be built.
We have over 65 fruiting plants and looking to expand.
Lattice to the front of the house
Our neighbours
Wombat Country

Finally all the mulch/wood chips have been spread around.
Still a small pile left for expansion.

Just completed the new cabling for the garage lights/switches.(unqualified exercise)
Looking to run the new outside water tap to the garage end of the house.
This leads to the new ceiling to the garage hopefully very soon.

Just the other day we discussed how rarely these days we motorists have Flat Tyres.
Guess what.
My car has a flat tyre and the trailer has a flat tyre.
A subject never to be discussed again.

The wood fire is a 24hr concern.
Keeps the house toasty and very comfortable day and night.
Consuming a fair bit of wood but its worth it.
Love my fire.
Have had a few good frosts late July.
It even Snowed one day. Really big snow flakes.
Just melted on the ground. Lovely to see.
Frost in July
Australia is conducting a Census this month. We can fill out the forms on line.
Apparently many (thousands) people last time when asked about their Religious belief
inserted  Star Wars "Jedi Knight".

We have tickets for the Russian Ballet in October. Really good seats.
I really have changed. Booking something months in advance is new.
Like our holiday to James & Jane. Booked 6 months ahead.

Friends of ours doing the Canal Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam.
Wonderful days, great evening meals and dancing all night.
They seem to be enjoying themselves.

We went to Canberra the other day. (about a 2 hour drive)
Love the place.
Old Canberra town - Civic
Wiesia at Black Mountain Tower

Looked in on Costco's (new to Australia).
Saw a Diamond ring for $39,990.00.  Hmmmm.
Had lunch at Parliament House. No politicians in town.
Cup of coffee up the Black Mountain Tower.
Really really love Canberra as a city.

During a day of wild windy weather we went down to Kiama.
Kiama Blow Hole
Blowing
Blown
Wild water - wild wind as well
