Sunrise 3

We went to an enjoyable show by a Roy Orbison impersonator at Penrith.
Met up with some old friends (a crowd of 12 of us)
The Big O was way before our time but strangely we knew most of the songs.

I have a splinter in my finger. (sympathy accepted)
Running out of firewood required me to scavenge urgently some wood out of one
of our bonfire stacks in the backyard.
Normal wood supplier is very very busy due to a cold cold snap.
The fireplace is still a new toy to me. Just love it.

Wiesia has been attending a photography course.
All about the digital camera and then learning what/how to take.
Wiesia purchased a wonderful new camera (a Nikon D5100)
She has a natural talent for this interest.

The vege patch (I know you all are interested in this) is all OK.
All seeds have now appeared above the surface and all seedlings
alive. Growth very slow (except the Bok Choy, its exciting) but its winter.
Even purchased some seed for butternut pumpkins. (this is significant)
October Glory
There is death and murder around the vege patch.
Slugs.....those slimy alien creatures who eat baby plants.
How could they.
Its personal.
Out comes the pellets.
Out comes the "beer" in the slug/snail trap.
Show no mercy.

Wiesia and I went down to Kiama.
This is a seaside town below Wollongong famous for its "Blow Hole".
Very calm --no blowing.
Spotted a pod of whales heading north.

Went to the Garden Club today.
I really only go for the afternoon tea with lots of home baking.
Purchased tickets for "Opera in the Barn" early next month.
Quite literally a barn which holds around 200 people with a mezzanine at one end (stage?).
Strangely Music Recitals, Opera and Live Plays very popular around Robertson and well attended.
What a cultured lot we are. ("we" being the collective we that includes us.)

The things we do.
Just bought some "Gold" and "Silver" for investment purposes.
Never did that before.

How we pass things along
Many years ago when I was just a boy of say 8 or 9.
OK maybe I'm 5 years old
Family outing in one of the old cars. Probably a Morris 8 (1940 vintage ? top speed 40 mph ?)
Driving along and Mum asks us "how long do you think the White Lines in the middle of the road are".
I come up with 4 ft, James maybe 5ft.
Mum stops the car, we get out and measure the white lines at over 10ft.
Well.....
I'm driving along recently with Wiesia and Ryan.
Ask them "How long are the white lines in the middle of the road".
Wieisa says around 2 metres and Ryan around 1.5 metres.
I'm about 2 metres long
I stop the car.
Get out and lay down on a white line and the lines are around 3 metres long.
Some things haven't changed.
